This Privacy Notice for UNIT INDEX LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you visit https://www.unitindex.com.

What information do we process? We may process information you provide directly and technical or usage information generated when you use Unit Index. This can include IP-derived network information, browser and device characteristics, approximate location, pages viewed, searches, interactions, and pseudonymous online identifiers used for security and analytics.
Do we process sensitive personal information? We do not intentionally process sensitive personal information for the operation or analytics of Unit Index.
How do we process your information? We process information to provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Services, detect automated abuse, understand usage, communicate with you when requested, comply with law, and enforce our terms. Where applicable law requires consent for analytics technologies, we use our consent controls before enabling those analytics identifiers.
Which service providers are involved? Our providers may include Cloudflare for Turnstile security, Google Analytics for analytics, Vercel for hosting and analytics, and Termly for consent and privacy-management services.

We may collect information you voluntarily provide when you contact us, submit a request, or otherwise communicate with us. Please do not send sensitive information unless it is necessary for your request.
In Short: Technical, security, and usage information may be processed automatically when you visit or use Unit Index.
This information may include your IP address or IP-derived network information, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language, referring URL, approximate country/region/city, timestamps, pages viewed, measurement searches, feature interactions, downloads, and other technical or diagnostic information. We use this information for security, operation, troubleshooting, analytics, and reporting.
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic and abuse. Turnstile may evaluate browser and environment signals to complete a security challenge, often without requiring a click. After successful verification, Unit Index creates a random verification identifier and stores it inside a signed, first-party, HttpOnly security cookie named ui_human_verified. The cookie is retained for up to 24 hours so a verified browser can avoid repeated entry challenges during that period. We use this identifier for security and verification records, not as our persistent analytics visitor identifier.
When analytics is permitted under our consent settings and applicable law, Unit Index may create a random first-party analytics visitor identifier named ui_anon_visitor, retained for up to 12 months, and a browser-session identifier named unitindex_activity_session, retained for the browser session. These values do not encode your name, email address, or other direct contact information.
We use these pseudonymous identifiers to reconcile a verified session across our server-side verification records and Google Analytics. Vercel Web Analytics is enabled only for verified visitors when analytics is permitted and is used as a separate corroborating source, not as a direct identifier-level join. This helps us distinguish verified human activity from automated or unverified traffic and improve the quality of our audience and usage statistics. If analytics permission is withdrawn, our consent-dependent analytics tracking is stopped and the first-party analytics visitor identifier and session identifier are cleared or disabled. The separate short-lived security cookie may remain until it expires because it is used for security rather than analytics.

Consent-dependent analytics identifiers and analytics cookies are enabled only when our consent logic indicates analytics is permitted.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time through the available Cookie Preference Center or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal.

We use cookies and similar technologies for security, preferences, and analytics. The Turnstile security flow occurs before the interactive application and analytics are unlocked. A successful Turnstile check can create the short-lived security cookie described above. That security event alone does not create our persistent analytics visitor identifier.
After verification, our application evaluates the applicable Termly consent state and regional consent logic. Only when analytics is permitted do we create our pseudonymous analytics visitor/session identifiers and enable Google Analytics and Vercel/custom interaction analytics. Where analytics is not permitted, the visitor may still use the Website after passing the security check, but consent-dependent analytics identifiers are not created.
When enabled, Google Analytics helps us measure verified use of the Services. We may provide Google Analytics with our random pseudonymous visitor identifier as a User-ID and with our random session identifier as an analytics property so we can reconcile verified sessions. UNIT INDEX LLC is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Where required, we use appropriate contractual or other safeguards for international transfers of personal information.
In Short: We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the relevant purpose, subject to legal requirements.
The signed Unit Index security verification cookie is retained for up to 24 hours. The first-party pseudonymous analytics visitor identifier is retained for up to 12 months when analytics is permitted. The Unit Index analytics session identifier is retained for the browser session. Google Analytics and other providers may have their own documented retention periods. Server-side security and analytics records may be retained for a reasonable period needed for security, analytics quality, troubleshooting, legal compliance, and the defense of claims, after which they may be deleted or aggregated.
In Short: We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect the information we process.
Our verification and analytics identifiers are randomly generated and do not encode direct contact information. The security and analytics visitor cookies we set are HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax. We also validate Turnstile tokens server-side before granting verification trust. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, however.
Unit Index is a general-audience informational service. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us that should be deleted, contact support@unitindex.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about our processing, and you may have rights to object or withdraw consent. To exercise a right, submit a data subject access request or email support@unitindex.com.
Where analytics consent controls are available, you can also use the Cookie Preference Center to change your analytics choice. Withdrawing analytics permission stops our consent-dependent analytics flow and clears the Unit Index pseudonymous analytics identifier as described above.
Browser Do-Not-Track signals do not currently have a single uniform technical or legal implementation across all jurisdictions. We use our consent-management controls and will update our practices if a mandatory standard applies to us.
Residents of certain US states may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws, including rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, or opt out of certain uses of personal information. These rights vary by state and may be subject to exceptions.
